How do I switch tools?

Tap the tool's name at the top of the board and the menu opens. Calculator, Percent and Date are free; Tip, Units, Loan, GST and Exchange are part of Slate Pro. Every tool runs on the same skinned keypad, and the system keyboard never appears.

Where are the scientific keys?

One tap on the calculator opens them: trig and inverses, logs, roots, powers, factorials, π and e, degrees or radians. Percent works the way desk calculators always have: 50 + 10% is 55.

What is the tape?

The line of recent results above the display. Tap one and it drops back into your sum, so a running total or a saved figure is a tap away, not a memory key.

Where did a calculation go?

Slate keeps the calculations you finish: newest first, fifty of them, behind the ↺ button in the top bar. Tap an entry and it loads straight back into the tool that worked it out, ready to change. Clearing the list is two taps.

How do I cast to the TV?

Tap the cast button in the top bar and pick your TV. Your phone and your TV need to be on the same Wi-Fi. Slate mirrors whichever tool is up, same numbers, same skin, while the phone stays the keypad; a cast left idle tidies itself up after a few minutes.

Exchange shows rates from earlier

That is by design. Exchange fetches published reference rates when you open it and keeps the last table on the phone, so it still converts with no connection, on the table it last saw. The rates are reference rates, not live market quotes: the rate a bank applies to a real transaction is its own.

I bought Slate Pro and it isn't unlocked

Pro rides the store account that bought it. Make sure the phone is signed into that account, then open Settings in Slate and tap Restore purchases.

I'm on a new phone

Install Slate from the store and restore Pro the same way: Settings, then Restore purchases, on the store account that bought it. Your settings and calculation history live on the phone itself, so whether they arrive on the new one depends on your phone's own backup and transfer.

The board doesn't fill the whole screen

Since 1.4, Slate shows the system bars like any other app. If you want the whole panel for the board, turn on Settings › Full screen; the bars come back with a swipe.
